Job Description
This position manages a team that supports the Health and Human Services and liaises with the Shared Technology Services / Data Center Services program. The position leads a team that supports Data Center Services (DCS) customer's daily operational and business requirements based on an in-depth understanding of the business environment and needs. The position leads a team that reviews and approves services being deployed at the agency data centers. The position directs the team that requests the decommissioning of servers and other Data Center equipment and assists with disaster recovery and security activities as needed. This position collaborates with internal and external service providers and acts as a point of contact to assist HHS / DCS customers and Infrastructure Services.
Essential Job Functions (EJFs) :
- Manages day-to-day activities of staff in a business function(s), division(s), or department(s), supervises work of others. (35%)
- Establishes goals and objectives; develops and approves schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals; and manages evaluation activities. (20%)
- Confers with executive management to develop strategic plans and long and short-term goals for the department. (5%)
- Develops and implements techniques for evaluating business function, division, or department activities. (5%)
- Plans and develops a budget, evaluates budget requests, monitors budget expenditures, and makes adjustment as necessary. (5%)
- Plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates policies and procedures, and monitors compliance with policies and procedures. (5%)
- Prepares management and productivity reports; and reviews and approves documents and reports developed by employees to ensure professional quality and appearance, appropriate content, consistency, and responsiveness. (5%)
- Identifies areas of needed change and makes recommendations to improve operations. (5%)
- Provides technical expertise and guidance regarding questions related to the business function, division, or department. (5%)
- May oversee the implementation of changes resulting from new legislation. (5%)
- May oversee special investigations, program analyses, research studies, and internal audits. (5%)

Initial Screening Criteria :
Bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited college in the IT field or related study, plus seven (7) years of progressively responsible professional experience. Work experience in the IT field may be substituted year for year for the education requirement. At least five (5) years of the required experience should be in one of the following :
Additional Information :
This position can telework 60% from any location in Texas consistent with HHS telework policies. Applicants from outside Texas must be willing to relocate within 60 days of hire.
Any employment offer is contingent upon available budgeted funds. The offered salary will be determined in accordance with budgetary limits and the requirements of HHSC Human Resources Manual.
