Infrastructure Solutions Architect
Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid – Onsite Tuesdays & Wednesdays)
Duration: 1 year (with possible extension)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Solutions Architect to lead the architecture and infrastructure strategy for various departments, including Elections, Financial, and Legal systems. This role requires a strong background in both infrastructure and application architecture, as well as hands-on expertise in cloud technologies (Azure/AWS), DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and security planning.
As a key technical leader, you will work closely with development teams, business analysts, and stakeholders to design scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure solutions. This role is hybrid, requiring onsite work two days per week (Tuesdays & Wednesdays) in Lansing, MI.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and recommend scalable architecture solutions for web and mobile applications.
- Lead development teams in implementing architecture best practices and ensuring compliance with standards.
- Assist in strategic planning, including applications integration and legacy system modernization.
- Analyze and recommend improvements for hardware, software, storage, networks, and security.
- Architect and support cloud migrations, transitioning teams from on-premise to cloud hosting.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration and deployment.
- Implement and manage containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes, or similar).
- Assist in the development of business process models from an infrastructure perspective.
- Ensure system security by creating and maintaining security and disaster recovery plans.
- Evaluate and integrate vendor technologies, including commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3 years of recent experience as an Infrastructure Solutions Architect.
- 10 years in software development (C#, .NET, SQL Server).
- 3 years of experience in Azure or AWS cloud environments.
- Expertise in DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
- Experience configuring cache and message queuing systems (Redis, RabbitMQ, etc.).
- Strong understanding of security best practices and disaster recovery planning.
- Experience leading architecture efforts in large-scale IT environments.
Preferred Skills
- Azure DevOps and cloud-native solutions experience.
- Experience working with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.).
- Previous experience migrating on-prem infrastructure to cloud.

Pay: $76.39 - $83.50 per hour
