The Residential Staffing Coordinator works under the supervision of the Director of Residential Services and works a designated 8-hour shift. The Residential Staffing Coordinator is responsible for posting DSP positions, setting up interviews, conducting interviews, processing new hire paperwork. The Residential Staffing Coordinator will maintain the Residential staffing roster and will take actions to ensure Active Position Status Report is accurate at all times. The Residential Staffing Coordinator will monitor internal position moves and double fills. The Residential Coordinator will develop system/reports to assist with position control. The Residential Staffing Coordinator will be active in the DSP recruitment process by attending job fairs and developing recruitment strategies. The Residential Staffing
Coordinator will track and trend turnover/vacancies.
Essential Job Functions (EJFs):
Develops advertising and other recruitment materials for publication and use in recruitment activities under the direction of the DRS.
Participates in off campus career/job fairs and plans, coordinates, and facilitates job fairs at the facility to increase qualified RSSLC candidates.
Plan, coordinates, and facilitates the DSP interviews. Processes DSP applicants (selections) from interview to first date of hire.
Maintains the staffing roster, monitors internal position moves, and coordinates with the Unit Directors and DRS to assign position numbers for new hires.
Ensures deadlines are met for new hire packets.
Utilizes Career Center for screening, interviewing and selection of DSP applicants.
Prepares and distributes correspondence, forms, and documents. Develops reports for staffing, vacancies, interview, etc. and prepares recommendations for DRS to improve service delivery and recruitment efforts.
Coordinates with various necessary departments to ensure position number accuracy on Active Position Status Report (APSR) for residential services.
Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
The individual must possess the ability to assess, plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate recruitment activities for all phases of recruitment, interviewing and retention of DSP staff. The individual must exhibit leadership attributes as well as a commitment to the philosophy of HHSC and the facility. Experience in schedules and staffing coordination to meet minimum staffing ratios. Ability to multitask and handle multiple objectives at one time. Ability to interpret policy and procedure and communicate them effectively both orally and in writing. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient knowledge and application in computer/software and spreadsheets. Ability to work independently and productively. Ability to make decisions and recommendations to executive staff. Knowledge of ICFMR Standards; HHSC, facility, and departmental policies and procedures; and record-keeping procedures. Proven
ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, with the ability to direct and instruct. Ability to work independently, to work cooperatively in a teamwork situation, and to work harmoniously in general with co-workers.

Initial Screening Criteria:
High School Diploma with some college preferred.
Experience recruiting, screening, and interviewing potential employees.
Experience in position control and staff scheduling preferred.
Experience in administrative work.
Experience coordinating work between organizational units preferred.
Additional Information:
Applicants must pass a fingerprint criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and registry checks including the Client Abuse/Neglect Reporting System (CANRS), Nurse Aide, Medication Aide and Employee Misconduct and HHS List of Excluded Individuals/ Entities (LEIE).

All State Supported Living Center Employees are subject to Random Drug Testing.
Flexibility in work hours may be required for this position. The position may be required to work overtime and/or extended hours. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
