Brief Job Description
Data Coordinator works under the direction of the Blind Children’s Vocational Discovery and Development Program’s Contract Manager within Health and Independence. Performs highly complex (senior-level) consultative services and technical assistance work to ensure quality service provision of BVCDDP and Children's Autism Program. Work involves conducting detailed analysis of data to help ensure compliance with program and agency policies and procedures. Provides support to the development and enhancement of the case management system. Assists in defining, developing, and implementing procedures governing the appropriate use of data within the Blind Children’s Program and Children's Autism Program. Works under limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Essential Job Functions (EJFs)
EJF 1) Compiles and queries data, utilizing tools such as Structured Query Language (SQL) and Statistical Analysis Software (SAS). Identifies data gaps, error anomalies, inconsistencies, and redundancies by analyzing the content, structure, and relationships within the data. (25%)
EJF 2) Prepares concise, comprehensive technical reports from multiple sources (including case management system, case reviews and staff observations) to present and interpret data, identify trends, and make recommendations on data structure as appropriate. Responds to time sensistive requests from internal and external stakeholders. (25%)
EJF 3) Interfaces with program staff and external Case Management System technical staff to support the development and enhancement of the case management system. Serves as program subject matter expert on interface between case management system and SQL/SAS. Supports the gathering of system requirements, system development, and communicating with technical and non-technical staff (20%)
EJF 4) Assists program with maintaining the Case Management System User Guide and providing technical assistance and training to state staff on case management system and SQL/SAS reporting. Documents processes and procedures for program reports.(15%)
EJF 5) Compiles and queries data to identify trends in program expenditures and program service delivery. May assist with completing quality assurance case reviews to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. (15%)

Knowledge Of

- Data analysis and compiling statistics off of datasets; developing and running queries, writing reports and presenting findings; databases and database design, data mining and segmentation techniques and of record keeping, including procedures for handling, protecting and distributing confidential data.
- The use of a computer and applicable software, including SQL, SAS and Excel, in analyzing problems and devising effective solutions; in evaluating and translating large amounts of data to technical and non-technical audiences.

- Certification in SQL or SAS, preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics or four years experience in compiling and querying data by utilizing Structured Query Language (SQL) and Statistical Analysis Software (SAS).
- Experience in preparing concise, comprehensive reports to different audiences.
- Experience analyzing data and reporting trends and relationships observed related to a data set.
- Experience in managing a shared Microsoft Outlook inbox, preferred.
- Experience supporting a business analyst to maintain a web-based application, preferred.
- Experience creating concise, comprehensive reports for city, state or federal government or for organizations that require reports with quick turnaround times, preferred.
