What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Assistant/Processor position at Texas Health Care PLCC?
Duties:
- Receives specimens from Phlebotomists and Couriers.
- Enters patient demographic and testing information into laboratory information system.
- Labels specimens using labels produced by laboratory information system.
- Screens laboratory specimens for adequacy.
- Deliver specimens to proper laboratory department for analysis.
- Prepares specimens and requisitions for delivery to reference labs.
- Assists with other date entry and clerical functions as assigned.
- May be assigned to drive a company vehicle to pick-up and deliver specimens
Requirements:
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology Preferred
- Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software
- Must consistently demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and focus.
- Medical Experience preferred but not required
- Phlebotomy experience preferred but not required
- Requires hands on with samples and will be running waived tests.
Ability to commute/relocate:
- North Richland Hills, Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Job Types: Full-time
Salary: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
The schedule is also 4 pm to 12 am or 5 pm to 1 am Monday to Friday
