In this dual role, you'll be the first point of contact for visitors and play a crucial part in the care and socialization of our feline residents. Key Responsibilities:
Front Desk Duties:
- Greet and assist visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries about shelter services, adoptable animals, and donation opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of adoptions and donations in the shelter management software.
- Process adoption applications and fees, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure effective communication regarding animal care and shelter operations.
Feline Care Duties:
- Provide daily care for cats, including feeding, cleaning litter boxes, and maintaining a clean living environment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of cats, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Engage with cats through play and socialization to promote their well-being and prepare them for adoption.
- Educate potential adopters about feline care and behavior, helping them find the right match.
Qualifications:
- Passion for animal welfare and a strong desire to support the mission of the shelter.
- Previous experience in customer service or animal care is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Comfortable handling cats of various temperaments and backgrounds.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Comfort with standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks associated with animal care.
