Located in the heart of Dallas, Texas Institute for Surgery (TIS) is a state-of-the-art surgical hospital dedicated to providing the best in surgical services in combination with renowned patient care. Our facility has nine OR's, three pain management/lithotripsy treatment rooms and CT scan radiology services. There are also nine patient and family-friendly inpatient rooms for longer recovery needs.
TIS was founded and is jointly owned by a select group of highly-acclaimed Dallas surgeons and Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas.
TIS surgeons specialize in orthopaedic surgery, back and spine surgery, pain management, ENT procedures, plastic surgery, foot and ankle surgery, urological surgical care, sports medicine and other specialties.
Job Summary:
| Responsible for assisting the OR team to meet the needs of individuals and groups of patients withint the OR. Responsible for assisting the Anesthesia Department by ensuring the availability of necessary supplies and maintaining the cleanliness of anesthesia equipment. |
Description:
| Assists the OR team with patient care delivery in accordance with directions given by RN, surgeon, anesthesiologist, etc. |
| Setup monitors and other equipment that anesthesiologist may need. |
| Clean equipment/maintain supplies at established levels. |
| Assemble, calibrate, and assist physician's indirect placement of central and peripheral venous and arterial invasive monitor lines. |
| Assemble intravenous infusions for all anesthetics, maintaining aseptic technique. |
| Demonstrate basic knowledge of anesthesia vital signs, monitor equipment, gas machines and ventilators. |
| Recognize safety hazards and report/act appropriately to protect the patient and others. |
| Assist with lifting and positioning patients. |
| Assist with room turnover by performing designated cleaning tasks as requested. |
| Other duties as assigned. |
Qualifications
Experience:
| 1-3 years experience in a fast paced multi-specialty hospital or surgery center is required. |
Education & Training:
| High School Diploma or equivalent. |
Licenses/Certifications:
| Basic Cardiac Life Support; ASATT Certification strongly preferred. |
Key Skills:
| Superior attention to detail and precision. |
| Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. |
| Ability to work with limited supervision. |
| Good decision making skills. |
