Qualifications
The Texas Institute of Cardiology is looking to hire a full-time/Part-time nuclear medicine technologist. Please only apply if you meet the following qualifications:
At least 1 year experience performing Nuclear stress tests/Myocardial Perfusion Imaging
ARRT or NMTCB licensed Nuclear Medicine Technologist
BLS or ACLS certification required
IAC accreditation experience necessary
Maintain documentation and records for Texas Department of Health and IAC inspections
Excellent communication skills and compassionate patient care provider
Ability to thoroughly explain imaging procedure to patient and answer any questions or concerns regarding study in the clear/concise manner
Follow all OSHA and radiation safety procedures
Manage hot lab and ensure dose calibrator, well counter, and any other necessary equipment is functioning properly prior to patient arrival
Perform all necessary QC on gamma camera
Proficiency in IV administration
Order appropriate radiopharmaceuticals & administer to patients upon arrival
Prep patients for stress tests and perform ECG/EKG monitoring during stress test
Ability to detect arrhythmias and ECG/EKG changes during stress test and respond appropriately
Experience performing Exercise and Pharmaceutical stress tests
Monitor patients during stress test for adverse drug reactions and administer appropriate medication under physician's direction
Ability to thoroughly complete MPI studies in a timely fashion
Experience with operating appropriate equipment, such as but not limited to, IS2 pulse Gamma Camera and GE Case treadmill system
Cedars Workstation, I-Stream reporting software, and EClinical Works EMR experience preferred
