Lab Technician
The Lab Technician is responsible for analytical testing in a petroleum, petrochemical and chemical laboratory. Participates in the emergency response team and quality assurance and quality control activities. Supports tank farm and refinery operations as required.
Qualifications
- 3 years of directly related laboratory experience preferred
- Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Physics, or related field required
- Ability to read and interpret company policies, regulatory guidelines, and other work-related documentation required
- Skill in providing thorough, efficient, and effective customer service to individuals at all levels within the organization required
- Ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal methods required
- Ability to accomplish work within required timelines, including short, long, and emergency timeframes required
- Ability to cross-train in other department duties to ensure efficient coverage department responsibilities required
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple assignments to ensure completion of tasks within stated time requirements required
- Basic skill using Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Word and Excel) required
- All successful candidates must be eligible to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
- Able to climb and descend stairs carrying up to 20 lbs.
