What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dry Operator 1 position at TEXAS INTERNATIONAL TERMINALS?
The Dry Operator is responsible for day-to-day terminal operations of the safe handling of dry bulk products. Maintain efficient and safe operation that supports the company core values.

- Rail Operations: ability to connect and disconnect railcars from liquids and dry operations to load and unload product to/from railcars.
- Equipment: ability to operate and use required equipment as needed for various job duties. Responsible for
- Basic Maintenance: ability to perform basic maintenance functions in order to continue with job duties. Work with lead to submit work orders for maintenance activity. Required to report all maintenance needed and completed during shift.
- Cleaning: responsible for ensuring equipment, conveyors, and work area is clean at the end of the shift.
- Safety: responsible for ensuring the JHA and other safety protocol are followed, including having a permit to perform certain job tasks. Responsible for reporting all safety hazards and work-related injuries as soon as they occur.
- Responsible for the safe operation of assigned equipment (Track hoe, front-end loader, bobcat, etc) in areas such as ship/ barge holds, deck, and dock areas while navigating around other equipment and personnel
- Ensures the maintenance of all assigned equipment including performing pre-job inspections and periodic maintenance. This includes but is not limited to the replacement/ inspection of all fluids, filters, fuels, and greasing systems
- Acts as signalman for other equipment operators and crane operators
- Perform all required deckhand duties
- Complete daily inspection reports and forwards to maintenance as needed
- Report ALL incidents through company's reporting protocol
- Support company safety initiatives
- Demonstration of knowledge of all required competencies

- Must be 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Must have the ability to work on multiple fronts simultaneously
- 3 years of experience operating equipment; forklift, track hoe, etc.
- Train to Operator D-9 Dozer and other heavy Equipment, i.e.: Front-end loader, Bobcat, Manlift, and Track-hoe
- Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card.
- Must possess and maintain a valid US driver's license.
- Must pass all pre-employment testing including a drug test, physical and background check.
- Ability to work at elevated heights, including using lifts, ladders, and stairs.
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
- Individuals must be able to work in confined spaces.
- Entering, exiting, and operating equipment.
- Ability to operate forklift, backhoe and other equipment as needed.
- Work is done outdoors; must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
- Ability to handle hazardous materials.
- Must be able to perform work wearing personal required protective equipment including but not limited to rain gear, FRC coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs and safety glasses, etc.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Shift work - must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Will be subject to Call out.
