What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Operator position at Texas Iron and Steel, LLC?
**** MUST HAVE VERIFIABLE EXPERIENCE IN OPERATING MACHINERY IN A STEEL PROCESSING OR FABRICATING ENVIRONMENT ****
Produces processed steel parts by programming, setting up, and operating a CNC or manual processing machine, such as a plasma table system, band saw, press brake, etc; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
Summary of Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
- Program machine per work order
- Identify steel plate, sheet, or long product to be cut
- Operate overhead crane and/or forklift to load table or conveyor
- Perform First Article Inspection to ensure cut quality and part dimensions
- Clean parts (remove slag, if any) as parts finish, stack on pallets, shrink wrap when needed, band material with steel banding, label skid according to instructions
- Maintains consumable readiness.
- Monitors consumable’s lifespan and gas pressures to ensure cut quality.
- Reports any quality, quantity, or dimension issues
- Completes weekly and monthly Plasma maintenance.
- Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work area.
CAD experience preferred but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
