GENERAL PURPOSE:
The purpose of the Diagnostician is for students to achieve the fullest educational experience through services that are identified through assessments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.
- This individual will assist with individual evaluations, special education compliance documentation, and will provide information to help with decision making for special education students during IEP meetings.
- The diagnostician will need to communicate and work cooperatively with parents and staff about students' individual needs and the program.
- Strong organizational skills are vital to this position in order for the campus/district special education program to stay in compliance with state and federal laws.
- Must be dependable detail oriented.
- Strong people skills are imperative for this position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
General Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, experience in special education or counseling, preferred.
- A Master’s Degree in educational assessment.
- Valid Texas Teaching Certification, preferred.
- Valid Texas educational diagnostician certificate.
Special knowledge/skills:
- Knowledge of diagnostic procedures, education of special education students, human development and learning theories.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
