FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Administrative Assistant – Human Resources will provide a full range of administrative support to the Human Resources Department and staff members with guidance from a specified supervisor. This position requires a high level of professionalism, written and verbal skills, strong work ethic, organizational ability, adherence to policies and procedures, maintenance of confidentiality, and work/project related flexibility.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.
- Prepare and edit general correspondence, documents, reports, and information requests;
- Filing, word processing, spreadsheet data entry, photocopying/scanning documents, and distributing mail, faxes, and other documents to staff;
- Coordinate and communicate meetings and events;
- Assist with special projects and preparation of meeting materials, including RSVPs, teleconference equipment, PowerPoint slides, handouts, binders, etc.
- Manage travel arrangement and prepare travel forms
- Calendar management (updating group calendar, scheduling proactively resolving conflicts, etc.);
- Maintain distribution and contact lists;
- Oversee inventory and the purchasing of office supplies;
- Serve as a resource to staff regarding district policies and procedures;
- Processing incoming and out-going mail.
- Be responsible for various assigned programs and processes.
- All other duties as assigned.
COMPLIANCE:
- Comply with policies established by federal and state laws, TEA rules and regulation, and board policy
- Comply with all office and district routines, regulations, policies, and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Related clerical or administrative assistance preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong organizational, communications, public relations, and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer and business skills
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a standard office setting
- Work with frequent interruptions
- Repetitive hand motions
- Prolonged use of a computer
- Occasional districtwide travel to multiple locations may be required
