Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment of the plant. This role requires a hands-on experienced professional with a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
Roles/Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair machinery and equipment, including conveyors, pumps, motors, and other mechanical systems.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal operation of the plant equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine appropriate repair solutions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals as needed.
- Use hand and power tools to perform repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with other maintenance and operations staff to ensure smooth plant operations.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Document maintenance activities and report any issues to the maintenance supervisor/manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in mechanical maintenance is preferred.
- 2 - 4 years of experience as a mechanical repairman/millwright, preferably in a cement or similar heavy industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including heavy lifting and working in confined spaces.
- Ability to work shift work, overtime, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to be flexible with schedule and be on an on-call rotation.
