TEXAS LEHIGH CEMENT COMPANY - BUDA, TX
Job Summary:
Reporting directly to the Utility Supervisor, the utility operator is critical in supporting the plant needs by performing a combination of physically demanding duties in a professional, safe and efficient manner.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Performs general plant clean-up duties of plant and equipment using shovel, broom, hand tools, skid steer, motorized sweepers and vacuum trucks.
- Performs a variety of general housekeeping and facility maintenance including janitorial duties, painting, yard work, general carpentry, and building upkeep.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations following all Texas Lehigh Cement Company safety practices and standards.
- Participates in weekly safety toolbox talks.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Effectively communicate with others.
- Work independently and as part of team
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand english
- Work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to safely use hand & power tools.
- Ability to work shift work, extended hours, weekends, and holidays (as needed)
- Requires the ability to stand for up to 8-16 hours per day, lift 50-80 pounds from the floor to waist height frequently and to push/pull 110 pounds for up to 50 feet consistently.
- Must be capable of climbing, kneeling, twisting and bending in a varied environment.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in heavy industrial, construction or manufacturing preferred.
Working Conditions:
Exposure to dust, loud noise, heat, dirt, high elevations of up to 225 feet, and all weather conditions
