Texas Meter & Device is hiring for several full time Gas Retrofit technicians (meter technicians) in the ---- Greater Seattle/Woodinville area.---- WE WILL TRAIN YOU.
Training starts at $20/hour., with an increase after successful completion of training. The training will start soon after successful completion of all background checks, driving records, and drug screenings.
Interviews will be conducted soon as we need to fill the positions quickly.
Generally, the position will be full-time, approximately 8 hours/day; however, there may be overtime required at times.
Under the general direction of the Project Manager and/or Field Supervisor, the Gas Retrofit Technician may do a variety of tasks which include but are not limited to module replacements/retrofits, installation, removal and replacement of antennae, cables, or other such devices required to ensure proper gas meter/module performance. TMD will train you.
Technicians will report to the warehouse/yard for company vehicle and inventory pick up and return each day in the Woodinville, WA area.
Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance as there is no per diem nor relocation allowance for these positions.
Responsibilities include:
- Will retrofit a gas module to the existing gas register on residential and commercial class gas meters
- Use a work order management system to capture and enter site data
- Maintain accurate records of work completed
- Oversee the materials, equipment, vehicle and tools; Operate company vehicle in a safe manner
- Keep track of new and used inventory
- Proper use of an Hand-Held Device (HHD) to collect new meter data
- Manages daily client communications, data and reporting
- Coordinates scheduling and meets quality / quantity requirements
- Provide courteous and excellent internal and external customer service
- Other duties and tasks as assigned or necessary
Qualifications
Requirements:
Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record as technicians will drive company vehicles for routes each day
Mechanical aptitude is necessary
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age and have a minimum of 3 years of (personal or professional) driving experience due to insurance requirements
Must have work boots
Must have own personal Smart phone
Additional Requirements: Background check clearance including drug screening (which includes cannabis/marijuana screening) and I-9 documentation as required by law
Ability to use hand held device and other equipment as required for the position
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to stand on feet, bend or stoop for a prolonged period of time. The work is performed outdoors and through inclement weather as necessary
Ability to carry out duties in a safe and efficient manner

Shift and Pay Info:
- Training rate is $20.00/hr with an increase after successful completion of training
- Monday – Friday, with possible Saturday work required at times - some overnight travel could be required at times
- Work hours are usually 8 hours between 7am – 5pm…Typically 7:00am to 4:00pm with 1 hour lunch or 7am - 3:30 pm with a half hour lunch, but could vary based on project needs
