What are the responsibilities and job description for the Claim Supervisor - Subrogation & Projects position at Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Risk Pool?
MAJOR DUTIES
- Provide guidance and assistance to pre-litigation subrogation staff by ensuring policies and procedures are current; identify training needs for personnel in department policies and procedures; ensure compliance with those policies and procedures; assist in complex cases; answer questions and resolve problems.
- Supervises claims project team and oversees department business systems software; addresses and coordinates issue resolution; attends meetings with developers and project team to remain aware of updates and changes, as appropriate; trains department personnel; drives organizational priorities related to claim’s system and processes.
- Works collaboratively with individuals and teams across the organization in support of ongoing organizational projects. Aligns subrogation team business processes to realize goals.
- Creates, develops, and manages measurements and goals for pre-litigation adjusters.
- Communicates with in-house personnel and members regarding subrogation efforts.
- Identifies and notifies management of sensitive claims and significant claims developments.
- Work with staff to identify and communicate key strategies, initiatives, opportunities, metrics, and goals that effectively drive and improve staff performance.
- Reviews employee timesheets : reviews leave requests.
- Performs related duties.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
Claims Supervisor- Subrogation and Projects Assigns work in terms of department goals and objectives. The supervisor reviews work through conferences, reports, and observation of department activities.
GUIDELINES
Guidelines include the Texas Labor Code, Texas Rules of Evidence, Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code, Texas Transportation Code, Division of Workers’ Compensation, and TMLIRP policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection, and interpretation in application. This position develops department guidelines.

SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
This position has functional supervision over assigned personnel, including Subrogation Specialists, System and Process Analysts, and Quality Assurance specialists.
