TMRS Overview
TMRS is a statewide public retirement system that provides retirement, disability, and death benefits to more than 230,000 employees, retirees and their beneficiaries of 940 participating Texas cities. TMRS’ investment staff manages more than $43 billion in Trust Fund assets.
Position Duties/Responsibilities
The HR Business Partner reports to the Human Resources Director and is responsible for aligning TMRS business objectives with human resources policy and practices to deliver value-added service to managers and staff. You will work with highly motivated, experienced professionals to:
- Provide HR guidance to Senior Staff and Managers.
- Analyze HR trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies to advance business objectives.
- Resolve complex employee relations issues.
- Maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Provide coaching, counseling and career development guidance to staff.
- Work with management and employees to improve work relationships, increase productivity, and retention.
- Provide guidance and input on workforce planning and succession planning.
- Assume other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Minimum of six years of experience in the Human Resources field.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational development, employee relations, learning and development, talent acquisition and management, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment
