Summary
We are seeking a Revenue Cycle Director to join our team at Texas Neurology. The Revenue Cycle Director will oversee and optimize the day-to-day revenue cycle operations of the organization. This includes payer relations, billing, claims submission, coding, collections, accounts receivable, denial management and reimbursement processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of the revenue cycle, including patient registration, claims processing, coding, charge capture, billing, and collections.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve revenue cycle efficiency and reduce denials.
- Monitor and analyze key revenue cycle performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of claims and follow-up on outstanding receivables.
- Ensuring compliance with contractual pay agreements, network affiliations, and regulatory requirements.
- Managing payer negotiations, maintaining compliance with Accountable Care Organization (ACO) guidelines, and ensuring adherence to payer policies and procedures.
- Ensuring participation in value-based care models aligns with regulatory and payer-specific guidelines.
- Identify and resolve issues related to billing discrepancies, denials, and payment delays.
- Prepare regular reports on revenue cycle performance for executive leadership, including trends and recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, insurance guidelines, and industry best practices.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain compliance and operational integrity.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration across teams to forecast revenue and optimize reimbursement.
- Oversee denial management and appeals processes to maximize revenue recovery.
- Evaluate and implement revenue cycle management (RCM) software and technologies to enhance efficiency.
- Identify automation and process improvement opportunities to streamline workflows.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of revenue cycle professionals, including billing, coding, and collections staff.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the department.
- Provide training and education to staff on best practices, compliance, and revenue optimization strategies.
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong understanding of healthcare billing practices, coding guidelines (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS), payer contracts, and reimbursement methodologies.
- Proficiency in revenue cycle management software and EHR systems (eClinicalWorks).
- Strong analytical skills to identify trends and interpret data to inform decision-making.
- Leadership and communication skills to manage teams and collaborate with cross-functional departments.
- Detail oriented and a strong understanding of best practices in the revenue and billing processes to independently manage a team through a process ensuring both accuracy and integrity.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, finance or related field. (Master’s degree preferred)
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in revenue cycle management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in hospital, physician practice, or healthcare system revenue cycle operations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clinical, operational, and financial teams to drive improvement initiatives.
