Responsibilities

Texas NeuroRehab Center is a specialized treatment facility located ten minutes from downtown Austin on 67 wooded acres.  We have served the Austin community for over 60-years and are proud of our history and tenured leadership team.

 

Today, Texas NeuroRehab Center provides complex medical and brain injury rehab for ages 13 years and older and neurobehavioral residential treatment services for children and adolescents. The capabilities of the facility as a whole allow for integrated and specialized care for children, adolescents and adults facing difficult challenges.

Texas NeuroRehab Center is currently accepting applications for a Speech Pathologist-PRN. This candidate will provide Speech/Language/Cognitive and Dysphagia services.

  • The following are the job requirements for the Speech Pathologist position:
  • SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of adult speech, language, cognitive, swallowing disorders, and treatment strategies associated with traumatic brain injury, neuropsychiatric and other neurological disorders.
  • EDUCATION: MS, MA, M.Ed., or Ph.D. in Speech/Language/Pathology.
  • LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current Driver’s License or State issued ID. Current TDLR license. 
  • EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 3 years experience working with the adult population in an in-patient setting.
  • PHYSICAL/GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to lift 25 pounds with occasional lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Able to use a computer and/or write for extended periods of time. Hearing, vision, and emotional stability sufficient to perform essential job functions. Able to communicate in writing and verbally. Able to physically restrain patients by individual or team restraint per policy. Regular and required attendance.
