Location: Fort Worth, TX
Salary: $118,019 – $177,028 per year (based on experience)
Bonus: 15% Annual Performance Bonus

Overview

A 350 bed acute care hospital in Fort Worth, TX is seeking an experienced Director of Surgical Services to lead a high-volume perioperative team. This role provides 24/7 oversight of OR, CVOR, Preop/PACU, Endoscopy, and PAT while ensuring clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

Reporting Structure

• Reports to VP of Procedural Services
• Direct reports: 4 managers (Main OR, CVOR, Preop/PACU, Endo) 1 PAT Supervisor
• 100 FTEs

Surgical Department Overview

• 17 ORs (13 Main 4 CVORs) 4 Endoscopy Suites
• Key Specialties:
  • Ortho, Spine, Neuro, General Surgery, Surgical Oncology
  • CV Surgery (High Volume) & Kidney Transplants
  • GI Residency & Fellowship Program
  • Robotic Surgery (DaVinci XI, MAKO, and others)
• Regional Referral Center for Ortho/Spine, CV, and Transplants
• 6,000 – 7,000 surgical cases annually 300-400 Endo cases per month
• New OR expansion under construction (Adding 4 additional ORs)

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 leadership and accountability for all perioperative departments
• Drive quality improvement initiatives, patient safety, and regulatory compliance
• Oversee budgeting, capital planning, and financial management
• Build strong relationships with surgeons, leadership, and staff
• Lead strategic growth initiatives to expand surgical services and increase volume
• Drive employee engagement, training, and leadership development

Requirements

• 3 years of recent acute care Surgical Services Director experience
• BSN required (MSN, MBA, or MHA preferred)
• Active RN license in Texas (or eligibility)
• Strong preference for experience in CVOR, Neurosurgery, and Transplants
• CNOR or CSSM certification preferred
