About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Hospital Laboratory Director to lead and manage the clinical laboratory operations in a large acute care setting. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, staff development, and exceptional diagnostic services across the laboratory department.
Key Responsibilities
Lead overall lab operations, ensuring quality, compliance, and innovation
Recruit, train, and develop qualified laboratory personnel
Maintain regulatory standards (CAP, CLIA, CMS, FDA, TJC)
Oversee financial and supply management of the lab department
Serve as a liaison with physicians and hospital leadership
Drive continuous improvement in lab services, patient care, and satisfaction
Ensure staff engagement through communication, coaching, and performance management
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or Biomedical Science (Required)
Master’s Degree (Preferred)
Certifications:
National Certification (ASCP required)
Experience:
Minimum 7 years of progressive laboratory leadership experience
Recent hospital-based lab management experience required
Skills:
Proven leadership in an acute care clinical lab setting
Expertise in regulatory compliance and operations
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
