Your Journey as a StaRN Resident As a StaRN Resident , you’ll gain valuable acute care experience through a structured program designed for new graduates. Here’s what you’ll experience : Part 1 : Classroom Training (5–8 weeks) : Instructor-led classroom sessions and state-of-the-art simulations. Training on charting systems and certifications needed for your unit. Monday–Friday schedule with 40-hour workweeks. Part 2 : Clinical Preceptorship (7–8 weeks) : One-on-one preceptorship at the hospital to acclimate you to your role. Regular development meetings with your preceptor and leadership team. Three 12-hour shifts per week during this phase. Part 3 : HCA Residency Program (remainder of Year 1) : Transition to a full-time RN role with ongoing mentorship and professional development.
