JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Director of Hospital Services, the Manager of Hospital Services (HS) supervises the Hospital Services Coordinators (HSCs),, Hospital Resources Coordinator, In-House Donation Specialist and Hospital/Donor Services Coordinators and the daily function of the Hospital Services department. The Manager will assist the Director with appropriate management tasks and will work closely with the Director to promote the development of individuals in the Hospital Services Department. In addition to support the overall function of the department, which includes but are not limited to activities relating to the development of and collaboration with TOSA’s donor hospital partners.
WORK SCHEDULE: The Manager of Hospital Services is a full-time position. Normal office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The employee may occasionally have to work evenings or weekends as needed.
KEY FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
- Assist Hospital Services staff to develop donation infrastructure and culture in their assigned hospitals.
- Provide all Hospital Services staff with education related to compliance with OPO best practices.
- Contribute to OPO and donor hospital relationship building by becoming familiar with key hospital contacts.
- Routine audits of hospital policy and procedures.
- Must be able to perform all level I-II and Senior HSCs functions.
- Advise Hospital Services Staff in determining action plans for areas of process improvement or critical interactions.
- Serve as a resource for Hospital Services Staff and liaison to the Senior leadership team.
- Serve as a mentor for all levels of HSCs.
- Extend support to staff during key points in their professional development and as needed.
- Review timesheets, leave requests and approve out-of-pocket expenses.
- Assist Director with the recruiting and hiring of potential candidates for the department.
- Assist Director with routine performance and profile reviews.
- Assist with monitoring departmental projects and task assignments.
- Facilitate interdepartmental collaboration and communication on projects and follow-ups in progress.
- Promote cohesive functioning and relationships within the department.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 3 to 4 years prior relevant work experience.
- 4-year degree in marketing, nursing, life science, public relations, journalism, education, or related fields preferred.
- Ability to perform operational planning and focused strategy development to achieve organizational objectives.
- Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills; must be able to function well under potentially stressful circumstances due to the nature of the interactions required.
- Working knowledge of or ability to learn basic computer skills and electronic medical records.
- Experience with and ability to learn and apply problem-solving tools/methodologies.
- Valid driver license and proof of insurability for auto insurance, as some travel is required on a moderate to frequent basis (by personal or company vehicle, and/or commercial aircraft).
- Physical requirements include ability to lift at least 50lbs.
