Job Summary
Busy Pulmonary Pediatric Practice is seeking a detail-oriented and organized DME/Medical Records Coordinator to manage and maintain patient DME/Title 19 paperwork and medical records within our Pediatric Pulmonary clinic. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology and experience in a medical office setting. This role is crucial for ensuring our patients receive the necessary medical equipment timely and/or medical requests are addressed withing the recommended turn around time.
Responsibilities
- Interact with DME suppliers and Home Health Care agencies regarding requests
- Thoroughly and accurately complete necessary paperwork for patients to obtain medical equipment.
- Organize and maintain patient medical records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of medical records by reviewing documentation for discrepancies.
- Process incoming records indexing, and filing documents into electronic systems.
- Assist healthcare providers with accessing patient information as needed while maintaining confidentiality.
- Respond to requests for information from authorized personnel in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure proper documentation practices are followed.
- Stay updated on changes in regulations related to medical records management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in health information management or related field is preferred.
- Must have prior knowledge of DME, Title 19 and Medical Records
- Experience working in a medical office or healthcare environment is necessary
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Proficient in using computer software applications related to record keeping and data entry.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with staff and patients.
Work hours are M-Th 8am-4:30pm and Friday's 8am-Noon
Job Type: Full-time
