Texas Process Equipment (TPE)
A fifty-plus year-old, privately held, regional distributor and manufacturer’s representative for a wide range of industry leading, sealed and sealless industrial pumps, XLPE tanks, water treatment controllers and accessories.
Description
The Sales Engineer is responsible for assuring client and customer needs in the assigned region are met and understood by each department in the company. Their duties include handling any client requests and complaints, working to find solutions to any client issues and working with other departments to ensure clients are experiencing a positive client-company relationship.
Location
This is an outside sales position where the qualified candidate shall live within an active portion of the territory. The sales representative will establish an office in their home. Area of responsibility will be primarily Dallas/Ft. Worth (North Texas).
Clients
The current clients in the region consist of a widely varied mix of:
- Basic and specialty chemical processing and packaging
- Chemical Distribution
- OEM and systems manufacturing
- Water, wastewater and effluent transfer and treatment
- Research and Development organizations
- Electrical power generation
- Paints/Coating manfuacturers
- Petroleum and Petrochem (Upstream, midstream, and downstream)
Duties and Responsibilities
A competent sales representative should be flexible enough to handle a variety of duties that pertain to the company and our clients. Their main responsibility is to make sure the company’s customers are happy, and some of their specific daily duties include:
- Provide customer product application support to all industries within respective territory
- Act as a technical resource consulting engineers, contractors, and end users providing guidance and support in product selection, application engineering, technical and application troubleshooting
- Communicating with clients to ensure that all of their needs are understood and addressed
- Conduct product demonstrations and sales calls tailored to the customer(s) they are speaking to
- Building strong client relationships/friendships to maintain old business and acquire new customers with the goal to increase territory sales annually.
- Collaborating with various internal company departments to ensure that they fulfill all customer requests
- Keeping track of all processes that pertain to the client’s desires and resolving complaints
- Acting as the client’s representative in the company to ensure that their demands are met with a focus on improving the customer experience
- Collecting and analyzing data concerning customer behavior to understand changing needs
Desired Qualifications
Mechanical Engineering degree is a plus, but not mandatory.
Comprehensive training and presentation skills to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience with and a practical understanding of the design, application, performance characteristics, and related thermodynamics (where applicable), for all types of pumps, electric motors, XLPE tanks and instrumentation control systems in industrial applications.
An independent operating skill of Windows based computer systems including Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Teams and general business operating systems.
The sales representative must have a valid unrestricted driver’s license and be qualified for, or currently a participant, in the TSA or U.S. Coast Guard TWIC Identification Card program.
