Position Summary
Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for maintaining the regular accounting duties for payables within the organization. The primary responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Clerk include acquiring and processing invoices, assisting in the reconciliation of payable related accounts, and paying vendors.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Completing payments and controlling expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices
- Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances and contracted rates
- Receiving and verifying expense reports using company-specific accounting software
- Verifying vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
- Maintaining historical records of all invoices, reports, receipts, and checks by saving documents properly on the network
- Ensure compliance to required policies and procedures
- Adherence to required controls and approvals
- Actively participate in accounts payable processes affecting the monthly closing of the general ledger
- Complies with federal and state regulations and all established Bank policies and procedures

Education and Experience Requirements
- A self-starting team player who possesses a high school diploma.
- Some college education with an emphasis in accounting preferred but not required.
- Experience in banking or other financial institutions preferred but not required.
- Strong focus on details.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- General knowledge of accounting principles.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced, high volume, work environment with accuracy and minimal supervision.
- Display a positive team working attitude with associates in all departments.
- Must have strong computer skills, with an emphasis on Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Must be able to be physically present in the Bank to perform job duties.
