Position Summary
The BSA Analyst I will help coordinate the development, implementation, and administration of all aspects of the corporate-wide policy, procedures and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Compliance Program. This position performs various quality control reviews areas of the bank that have to maintain compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, Anti-Money Laundering, OFAC, and Customer Identification Program. The BSA Analyst I will work closely with the BSA Supervisor(s) while using industry standard and regulatory guidance sampling methods to ensure the Bank's compliance efforts are maintained on a daily basis.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The BSA Analyst I will help coordinate the development, implementation, and administration of all aspects of the corporate-wide policy, procedures and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Compliance Program. This position performs various quality control reviews areas of the bank that have to maintain compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, Anti-Money Laundering, OFAC, and Customer Identification Program. The BSA Analyst I will work closely with the BSA Supervisor(s) while using industry standard and regulatory guidance sampling methods to ensure the Bank's compliance efforts are maintained on a daily basis.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Create, review, and analyze documentation for all new commercial accounts and consumer risk rate accounts per the Bank’s risk rating criteria.
- Research daily BSA/AML alerts produced by the Bank’s BSA/AML/Fraud software.
- Research daily OFAC/Watch List alerts produced by the Bank’s BSA/AML/Fraud software.
- Review and approve daily OFAC/Watch List alerts from incoming front-line personnel.
- Research daily fraud alerts produced by the Bank’s BSA/AML Fraud software.
- Use independent judgment when reviewing and analyzing alerts/reports to determine when further investigation is warranted.
- Prepare escalations for the case investigation team on alerts found to be unusual or suspicious.
- Compare CDD/EDD behaviors on commercial accounts to BSA/AML software. Communicate with branch on any discrepancies and unusual activity.
- Perform ongoing monitoring, as required, of all high risk and medium risk accounts in accordance with the established monitoring schedule.
- Review and analyze CIP documentation for all new accounts in preparation for quarterly and annual BSA external audits.
- Stay current with changes in BSA regulations.
- Meet daily production goals.
- Complete and/or attend all required training set forth by the BSA Officer and the Bank.

Qualifications, Education and Experience Requirements
- Minimum of three years banking experience.
- Basic working knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act regulatory requirements.
- Strong problem solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work with all levels of management and the Board of Directors.
- Good organizational skills, strong judgment and excellent time management.
- Strong writing, word processing and spreadsheet analysis skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must have excellent communication, analysis, observation and decision-making skills.
