Job summary:Teach assigned courses following the approved syllabus and curriculum. Provide students with clear course objectives and classroom expectations. Ensure that course content and objectives are met. Utilize a variety of teaching styles and methods to accommodate the diverse learning styles of students. Actively challenge and engage students to encourage participation and learning, while maintaining mutual value and respect. Administer graded examinations to assess course objectives. Provide guidance and academic support to students. Comply with all institutional, accrediting and regulatory agency policies and procedures. Actively work to maintain student retention within the program. Identify at-risk students and provide tutoring and program plans to help them succeed. Maintain accurate attendance records and call on or follow-up with absent students. Respond to student questions and inquiries in a timely manner. Document concerns to the Program Director or Director of Education. Uphold the highest levels of professionalism and ethical conduct.
Summary of essential job functions:The Certified Phlebotomy Technician Instructor is responsible for providing quality classroom and lab instruction to students in the Phlebotomy Technician program, following the approved course syllabus and curriculum. Previous teaching experience and computer literacy is preferred.
Minimum requirements:Minimum 5 years practical experience working in the field; experience working at a clinical/laboratory facility preferred. Current Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification (applicants must be able to provide proof of certification prior to beginning employment.) Excellent customer service, organizational and motivational skills. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to teach students using different teaching styles and methods. Two years prior teaching experience required.
