What are the responsibilities and job description for the Biostatistician (Onsite based in Dallas, TX) position at Texas Staff HQ?
The Biostatistician works within the Clinical Analysis Group (CAG) developing statistical algorithms and performing various analyses, ensuring data integrity of the multiple Clinical Operations initiatives. Directly responsible for validating and submitting clinical performance and outcomes data from our hospitals to external regulators, payers and national comparative benchmark databases. Works directly with our hospitals to support clinical application usage and clinical registries. Assists the CAG team leaders in developing a variety of quality reports requested by multiple stakeholders internally and externally to the company. Works on a continual basis with our vendors on system enhancements as well as ongoing maintenance of the web based clinical data collection tool, in supporting national and state level data reporting.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Work with the Clinical Analysis Group in assisting Tenet hospitals on national data registry participation and data submissions
- Deliver various reports within Quality applications. Generate regularly scheduled reports as well as ad-hoc reports based on business requirements.
- Testing and validation of quality tools and databases
- Manage and Update Product Specifications and Documentations
- Assist and Resolve Hospital Issues and Questions identified in User Tickets
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of experience required, Master's preferred
- Advanced computer skills in R, Python, Google BigQuery required
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and Visio)
- Clinical/healthcare background a plus
- Strong mathematical and statistical skills with strong emphasis on analysis of large databases
- Critical thinking skills and demonstrated ability to focus on details
- Ability to learn quickly and work on multiple projects simultaneously, and demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding, and stimulating environment
- Must be a team player and able to work independently as well as take direction from the supervisor
