Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of key pharmacy departments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, optimizing workflow efficiency, and supporting a high standard of patient care. This role involves supervising staff, managing inventory, improving operational processes, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures, overseeing front-end retail pharmacy staff, and enhancing revenue accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
- ·Supervise pharmacy support staff in vital areas of pharmacy operations to include but not limited front end retail, customer service and shipping.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations and company policies.
- ·Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, storage, and waste management to reduce shortages and control costs.
- ·Collaborate with pharmacists and other staff professionals to enhance medication safety and patient care.
- Implement operational workflows that improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Train and mentor staff to ensure proper knowledge of policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Conduct audits and quality assurance checks to maintain high service standards.
- Assist in budget planning and cost-control initiatives for pharmacy operations.
- Address and resolve operational issues, including customer service concerns and escalations.
- Utilize pharmacy management software to track performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
- Enhance customer experience by implementing best practices for service and satisfaction.
- Support new technology implementation to improve pharmacy operations and customer service.
- Monitor and improve pharmacy reviews and net promoter scores (NPS).
- Drive nutraceutical sales and facilitate education staff on best practices for product recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a retail pharmacy setting, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Licensure/Certification: Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred;
