What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optometric Tech/Dr's Assistant position at Texas State Optical Mansfield?
A well-known optometry office is looking for a full-time doctor's assistant/optometric technician who will also be cross-trained as a receptionist. Candidate should be enthusiastic, dedicated, reliable, and have good communication skills. Experience in the field of Optometry or Ophthalmology will receive first consideration.
Technician duties include preliminary testing (AR, tonometry, lensometry, VA’s, etc), taking medical histories, maintaining efficient patient flow, and contact lens training. Experience with special testing such as OCT, fundus photography, and VF is a plus. Answering phones, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance as needed.
Our office operates in a professional, mature, customer-focused manner.
Hours shown in the link are our office hours during the week. Employees are expected to work 5 days a week with Saturdays included.
