We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optician to join our team. Duties
- Assist customers in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescription and lifestyle needs.
- Conduct fittings and adjustments of eyewear to ensure proper fit and comfort.
- Maintain knowledge of current eyewear trends, products, and technologies to provide informed recommendations.
- Process orders for eyewear, including lenses and frames, ensuring accuracy in specifications.
- Educate patients on the proper care and use of their eyewear.
- Manage inventory levels of frames and lenses, performing regular stock checks.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient information confidentiality.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in the clinic to provide comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
- Strong retail math skills to assist with inventory management and sales tracking.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to eye care.
- Knowledge of physiology as it pertains to vision health is preferred.
- Experience in retail sales, particularly in the optical field, is highly desirable.
- Understanding of senior care considerations when assisting older patients with eyewear needs.
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems such as Epic is a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service and patient education.
