Optometric Assistant
Location: Port Arthur/Nederland
Job Description:
An optometric assistant is responsible for providing support to optometrists in a clinical setting. The assistant will perform various tasks such as preparing patients for eye exams, conducting preliminary tests, and assisting with contact lens fittings. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for eye exams
- Conduct preliminary tests such as visual acuity, Auto-refraction, Retinal Imaging and tonometry.
- Assist patients with contact lens
- Manage patient flow
- Review insurance and vision plan with patients and collect co-pays.
- Manage and place contact lens orders
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients
Requirements:
- High school diploma
- Previous experience in a medical or optometric setting preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
