What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Service Manager position at Texas State Rentals?
As the Service Manager you will be the lead of all maintenance of rental equipment, warranty repairs and all other service repairs. It's important the you can motivate and direct a team of technicians to get the work done correctly and on time. Customer centric solutions that put Safety First is our number one goal.. You and the Branch Manager will work together to build a profitable branch.
- Promote a culture of safety and discipline through leadership exemplary personal compliance, accountability and communication.
- Motivate, Coach and Train technicians to exceed time and quality standards and comply with standard repair and maintenance processes
- Staff adequately based on skills and workload
- A good understanding for R&M, P&L and associated cost/budget
- Lead, plan, measure and continuous improvement of all service and maintenance performance metrics
- Oversee parts department activities, to ensure optimal customer service, technician/shops/OEC productivity and cost control
- Evaluate performance and promotability of team members. Identify and provide necessary skills training and regular coaching
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma Required; Trade-School Degree a plus; Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Extensive Equipment Fleet Maintenance and Leadership experience
- 3 years service and maintenance experience and 2 years supervisory experience
- Strong motivational and leadership skills
- Strong knowledge of maintenance accounting and P&L
- Must possess solid written and verbal communication skills and be able to perform basic computer operations
- Understands the importance of time management, standards of operating procedures, Owner's manuals and Product/warning labels.
The physical demands of this role require bending, squatting crouching, reaching, listing 50 pounds or more and working indoors/outdoors when required by the job.
