Position Description
The School of Music at Texas State University seeks an engaging, creative, collaborative, and dedicated teacher / performer to serve as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Trombone. Duties begin August 2025.
The successful candidate will be expected to :
- Teach undergraduate and graduate applied trombone, trombone literature and pedagogy courses, chamber ensembles, trombone ensemble, and other topics according to the candidate's qualifications and needs of the School of Music.
- Maintain a record of scholarly / creative activity and make substantive professional contributions to the field of trombone performance.
- Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and service activities.
- Recruit and retain a full studio of undergraduate and graduate trombone students.
- Other duties assigned by the Director of the School of Music.
Positions are subject to availability of funds.
