Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
- Knowledge of standard safety skills practices related to various general labor work assignments and motorized equipment that requires operation.
- Ability to communicate verbally and receive instructions that may require duties to be completed individually or as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs alone.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical duties outdoors in various weather conditions, including walking long distances.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of PPE.
Job Description
Responsible for providing attractive, safe, and well maintained grounds across all the different University owned property.
Job Duties
- Police litter.
- Maintain trash barrels.
- Prepare, install, and maintain landscape beds on campus.
- Weed landscape beds.
- Maintain shrub and ground cover beds.
- Mow, trim, and edge turf areas.
- Rake, blow, and sweep grass clippings.
- Clear pedestrian walkways of leaves, litter, debris, blow, clean chalk graffiti.
- Special Event preparations.
- Assist tree crew as needed.
- Pick up landscaping material orders from off campus vendors.
- Remove safety and pedestrian hazards after extreme weather events.
- Operate, maintain, and PM both manual and power equipment.
- Use a computer and work phone to monitor and address AIM work orders and SAP entries.
- Report problems and safety issues to Supervisor.
- Attend regular training.
- Other duties as assigned.
