Position Description
The Department of Health Administration seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary/nontenured faculty to teach in undergraduate and graduate programs. Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based on student demand on a semester-by-semester basis. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental/school/program need. Successful candidates may teach at the San Marcos, Round Rock campuses, and/or online, depending on the needs of the academic department.
This posting is for the Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2024/2025 semesters.

Applicants applying for a pool faculty position will be available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case the need arises.

Required Qualifications
Specific educational requirements vary by position, but a minimum of a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching field is generally required. PhD, DHA, DBA, DrPH, MHA, MBA, MPH, and other degrees considered. Healthcare management or long-term care administration experience may substitute for this prior graduate teaching requirement.

Preferred Qualifications
FACHE, CHFP, FHFMA, CMPE, FACMPE, FACHCA or other relevant certification based on professional curriculum teaching assignment. A master’s degree, doctorate/PhD from an AACSB, CePH or CAHME accredited program is also preferred.

The Medical Laboratory Science Program will accept applications from qualified applicants on a continual basis.
