Position Description
The Department of Theatre and Dance at Texas State University seeks an Assistant / Associate Professor of Musical Theatre Dance (Tenure Track or Nontenure Professor of Practice), starting fall 2025. The new hire will join an internationally recognized department with a dynamic faculty and top ranked musical theatre program that celebrates a highly vetted student population with a
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Teach a course load of 3 / 3, with courses tailored to the candidate's strengths. Potential courses may include Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Musical Theatre Dance, and Musical Theatre History.
- Choreograph at least one musical per year as part of the department's mainstage season.
- Serve as Co-Head of the Musical Theatre Area, with responsibilities including :
Student recruitment and audition management.
