Basic experience using business software such as MS Office products and common computer applications.
Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to read and interpret manuals, work orders, and assignments.

Proficient in utilizing portable electronic devices to manage work orders.

Experience working independently and in a collaborative setting.

Experience providing maintenance in apartments, residence halls, or hotel maintenance.

Job Description

The Facilities Maintenance Worker I will perform basic maintenance and repair work on university housing facilities, assisting with the completion of the room make-readies and completion of preventative maintenance work orders. They participate as a Department of Housing and Residential Life Facilities Maintenance team member in providing noteworthy customer service to students, staff, and guests. This position will report to a head maintenance worker.

Job Duties

Repair, replace, and maintain existing fixtures, equipment, and furniture.

Identify necessary parts and maintain building inventory.

Perform building inspections and complete preventative maintenance work orders.

Assess, update, and promptly complete work orders assigned by the supervisor or crew leader.

Demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills with residents, guests, and team members.

Perform all physical aspects of assigned duties, including stooping, reaching, climbing, and lifting to 50 pounds.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Information to Applicants

This position requires driving University vehicles.
