The Yard Helper position will be responsible for TSC operation at our CE King location in Houston, Texas.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Working Conditions:
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment: hot when the weather is hot and cold when the weather is cold. Greasy, dirty, and noisy environment. Work involves lifting, pulling, and/or pushing of materials and products up to 50 pounds. Standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats. Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
Qualifications:
- A High School diploma or equivalent.
- Manual dexterity is required for operating hand tools and handheld technical devices.
- Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and yard instruments is a plus.
- Must be able to work with a flexible or rotating schedule, which may require overtime and weekends when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the transfer and production operations in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
- Follow the Forklift operator’s instruction during transfers and housekeeping operations.
- The employee will assist in the verification of all loading and unloading of material for quality assurance.
- Assists in Inventory Control for verification of counts and material.
- The employee is responsible for the assisting of racking of material per instruction.
- Communicate to the Yard Lead Man any problems with material, racks, or trucks.
- Ensure the equipment to be operated is in good condition.
- Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
Activities:
- Employee must report to Yard Lead-man for production or Yard Supervisor for special projects on daily tasks.
- Assist Forklift Operator with loading, unloading, and verification of material.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and keep it free and clear of debris.
- Perform 5 racks verification daily.
- Complete the PIT checklist on a daily basis.
- This position may require operating a powered industrial equipment (Buggie).
- Other duties as assigned.
