What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Research Nurse position at Texas Tech Univ Health Sciences Ctr?
Clinical research nursing is the specialized practice of nursing focused on maintaining equilibrium between care of the research participant and fidelity of the research protocol. This specialty practice incorporates human subjects’ protection, care coordination and continuity, contribution to clinical science, clinical practice, and study management throughout a variety of professional roles, practice settings, and clinical specialties. Uses nursing skills to evaluate, plan, implement, and document scientific research utilizing human subjects. Gathers data and analyzes results. May be responsible for participant recruitment and counseling, ethical oversight, or compilation of study results.
- Identifies, documents and reports suspected medical errors
and adverse events through reviewing medical charts, family
safety reports, and hospital incident reports. - Distributes and collects completed post-overnight shift
surveys and end of rotation surveys from resident-physician
subjects. - Collects information about suspected medical errors and
adverse events from study unit staff (RNs, ancillary support
staff, physicians and families of patients admitted in the
hospital). - Prepares case reports and source documentation for
independent monitoring and audits. - Responds and completes data queries and clarifications
- Responsible for data validation and quality control.
- Ensures adherence to IRB guidelines and regulations
- Prepares weekly status reports for meetings and monitoring of
database. - Meets weekly with Principal Investigators and study team to
review study progress.
Salary : $4,414 - $11,042
