What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Coordinator position at Texas Tech Univ Health Sciences Ctr?
Supports the program director by performing administrative duties related to planning, directing and coordinating both the academic and operational activities of the program.The scope of the positon of Unit Coordinator/Residency Program Coordinator has broadened as the department has grown to require new ranges of knowledge, background, and skills to provide the necessary support to the Residency Program Director and Regional Chair. Many new electronic programs from the RRC and ACGME have required additional knowledge and computer skills for this position, including a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Maintains applicant data base (ERAS).
Interacts with applicants interested in department residency program.
Schedules applicant interviews.
Verifies completeness of candidate documentation.
Coordinates, plans, and supervises the annual new resident orientation.
Organizes and coordinates the typing and printing of the resident manual and various recruitment documents.
Handles resident complaints and concerns in conjunction with the Program Director.
Prepares various reports concerning information pertaining to residents to be utilized by the institution and also for outside agencies as requested.
Serves as information resource for resident regarding problems with licensure, insurance, DEA numbers, institutional permits, etc.
Acts as a liaison between the department and the education office, the Residency Program Director, department Chair, and the RRC.
Handles arrangements for meeting/conferences, including travel, hotel, ground transportation, registration, etc for residents.
Performs other duties as may be requested or assigned.High school plus six years experience in related field. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
