Major/Essential Functions
Provides direct patient care services in the outpatient setting at the Family Medicine Center and other clinics, as assigned
Provides patient care and supervision of residents on the family medicine inpatient service and participates in the faculty call schedule
Supervises residents in the outpatient clinic setting and participates in the overall teaching program for teaching and training of residents
Supervises and teaches clerkship students in the outpatient clinic setting
Teaches medical students throughout the medical school curriculum as assigned
Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship
Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work and other administrative duties
Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission
Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine’s Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility
Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
Upholds and promotes the values-based culture of TTUHSC El Paso
Required Qualifications
M.D. or D.O. degree
Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program in Family Medicine
Licensed or eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Texas
Preferred Qualifications
Board certification in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine for the rank of Assistant Professor or higher
Additional training or experience in obstetrics for the candidates interested in practicing obstetrics
Emerging or established regional or national reputation for the rank of Associate Professor or higher
