Shop Operations Management:
- Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, workflow management, and technician assignments.
- Monitor shop efficiency, productivity, and service delivery to meet customer needs and business goals.
- Implement and enforce shop policies and procedures.
- Ensure all equipment, tools, and facilities are well-maintained and in working order.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, train, and supervise a team of diesel technicians and support staff.
- Provide ongoing guidance, performance reviews, and coaching to ensure a high standard of work and safety.
- Manage staffing levels, including recruiting, hiring, and scheduling.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Customer Service & Communication:
- Act as the point of contact for Operations Management Team, addressing concerns and providing updates on vehicle service progress.
- Ensure Operations Management Team communication satisfaction through high-quality service, clear communication, and timely delivery of services.
- Manage Operations Management Team, complaints or service issues to ensure resolution.
Maintenance & Repair Management:
- Oversee the repair, diagnostic, and preventive maintenance of diesel trucks and related equipment.
- Ensure all service work is completed in compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and manufacturer specifications.
- Monitor repairs and service orders to ensure accurate and timely completion.
Inventory & Parts Management:
- Manage inventory levels of parts, tools, and supplies, ensuring timely ordering and cost-effective purchasing.
- Ensure parts are readily available to avoid delays in repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain vendor relationships for parts procurement and negotiate pricing and terms.
Financial Oversight:
- Monitor shop revenue, expenses, and profitability.
- Track repair costs and recommend strategies for cost control and efficiency.
- Prepare budgets and reports on shop performance to senior management.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all operations comply with OSHA, environmental regulations, and local laws.
- Oversee shop safety protocols, ensuring staff are trained on safe work practices.
- Maintain necessary certifications and licenses for the shop and technicians.
Quality Control & Reporting:
- Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure it meets quality standards.
- Monitor and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) such as turnaround time, customer satisfaction, and technician productivity.
- Prepare regular reports on shop performance for senior management.
Job Requirements:

- Proven experience in diesel truck repair and maintenance.

Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed in shop environment
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing
- Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
- Must be able to work in extreme heat and cold temperatures
- Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering shop floor equipment to access, inspect, or oversee shop work
- Requires occasional travel outside service area
- Occasionally requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, gloves, etc.)
- May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials and chemicals
