Overview
We are seeking an innovative and experienced Design Manager to lead our creative team in developing compelling design solutions that align with our brand vision. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in design principles, project management, and team leadership. As a Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the aesthetic direction of our projects while ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
Duties
- Lead and mentor a team of up to 6 in-house designers and 12 remote designers, fostering a collaborative and creative environment.
- Oversee the design process from concept through execution, ensuring alignment with project goals and brand identity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, product development, and engineering to deliver cohesive design solutions.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Conduct design reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to enhance their skills and the overall quality of work.
- Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and technologies to drive innovation within the design team.
- Present design concepts and strategies to stakeholders, articulating the rationale behind design decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Design Manager or similar role within a creative environment.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects across various mediums.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant tools.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a creative team.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external clients.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of user-centered design principles is preferred but not mandatory.
- 7 year multi-family truss design experience.
