Accounting Specialist

Job Summary:

Reporting to the president, the Accounting Specialist will be responsible for general accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and financial reporting. Must have solid communication, technology, analytical and management skills. Candidates should possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance (Preferred)
• Accounting: 5 years (Required)
• Sage/Business Works: 5 years (Preferred)
• QuickBooks: 5 years (Preferred)
• Excel: 5 years (Required)

Responsibilities:

Manage & Oversee the daily operations of the accounting functions including:

· Monthly, quarterly and end-year processes

· Accounts payable/receivable

· General ledger

· Payroll and utilities

· Cash forecasting

· Revenue and expenditure variance analysis

· Capital assets reconciliations

· Check runs

· Fixed asset activity

· Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements

· Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles

· Coordinate and complete annual audits

· Provide recommendations

· Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions

· Meet financial accounting objectives

· Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions

Requirements:

· Advanced computer skills on Sage/Business Works, MS Excel and QuickBooks

· Ability to manipulate large amounts of data

·Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations

· High attention to detail and accuracy

Pay: From $58,000.00 per year
