Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

You Will Be Trusted To
- Oversees and coordinates risk assessments.
- Identifies security requirements and best practices for technology platforms, information systems, and information technology operating procedures.
- Reviews and recommends information technology control elements to mitigate information technology risks regarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of business information.
- Collaborates with stakeholders across the agency to develop and implement effective remediation strategies.
- Prepares and provides training on security best practices, providing recommendations, and identifying areas of improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Eight years of full-time experience in cybersecurity analysis, information security analysis, or digital forensics.
- Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
- Certification as a SANS GIAC Information Security Professional (GISP), Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), or equivalent senior level cybersecurity certification is required.
- 5 years of full-time in-service experience with a Cybersecurity team emphasizing in application security assessments with a State of Texas Agency with regular status and senior level cybersecurity certification will satisfy the minimum qualifications.
- Experience in conducting security assessments and/or audits of policies, standards, procedures, and technical environments within state and federal statutes, regulations, and standards relating to information security and computer crime.
- Experience in cybersecurity program implementation.
- Experience in supervising the work of others.
- Strong familiarity with the Texas Administrative Code (TAC) related to cybersecurity and information security.
- Possession of an advanced certification specifically related to cybersecurity, such as the Offensive Security Web Expert (OSWE) or demonstrable experience in assessing web applications using Open Worldwide Application Security Project (OWASP) methodologies.
