What You Will Do
The Purchaser V performs advanced (senior-level) purchasing and procurement work. Works under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
You Will Be Trusted To
- Perform an array of technical, research, planning, and administrative activities related to agency procurements and developing a strong, effective scope of work, to identify an appropriate procurement method.
- Assist in the collection, organization, analysis, and/or preparation of materials needed to develop specifications for the purchase of goods and services.
- Serve on behalf of the senior procurement staff in resolving issues with vendors.
- Conduct surveys and/or research to determine appropriate specifications to meet end user needs in the development of solicitations.
- Review and evaluate information on goods and services to develop strong solicitation instruments.
- Assist in developing project budgets by evaluating market information on goods and services required.
- Coordinate and collaborate with program staff in planning, development, implementation, analysis, and documentation of procurement and contracts.
- May recommend procurement options to meet end-user needs.
- May assist in the developing policy and procedures.
- May supervise the work of others.
- Perform related work as assigned.
- Three years of experience in the purchasing and procurement of goods and services.
- Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
- Certified Texas Contract Developer (CTCD).
- Experience purchasing and procuring goods and services including Invitation for Bids (IFBs) and Request for Proposals (RFPs).
- Three years' experience in the purchasing and procurement of goods and services.
- A Family Friendly Certified Workplace.
