WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Systems Analysts IV performs highly complex (senior-level) computer systems analysis work. Work involves planning and analyzing user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing systems. May supervise the work of others. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
- Perform complex computer systems analysis work.
- Serve as a liaison for state personnel, Workforce Development Board staff, and other authorized users of TWIST and WIT system/applications for Workforce Division.
- Provide assistance with training, application process, system functionality, other related policies and procedures
- Participate and provide input in the development, maintenance and enhancements for WIT and TWIST applications.
- Provide analysis and support as issues (problems and questions) are escalated by Workforce Automation Support Desk, Contract Management, Communication/External Relations, Workforce Policy, UI, DOI, T&D, and others.
- Analyze existing or proposed federal or state legislation/statutes/regulations to provided written recommendation on: impact to program operations and management, program policy changes, automation changes, and other processes necessary to successfully operate employment and training programs. Communicates general workforce program information and program specific information in various venues (workgroups, interagency, seminars, etc.). Schedules and leads work groups.
- Verify and document system defects and test all defects as well as all system enhancements prior to their release to ensure they function per document specification and requirements.
- Develop or design, spreadsheets, databases, dashboards or other quality assurance tools to enhance and maximize efficiency in program analysis, technical assistance, and/or policy support materials.
- Perform related work as assigned. Special projects, assignments and other duties as assigned to meet the mission and goals of the department, division and the Texas Workforce Commission.
- Three years of full-time experience in computer programming, systems analysis and/or program analysis or three years of full-time experience which provided general knowledge of data processing or systems analysis.
- Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
